A product from last weekend boredom – a PHP based message board with jQuery based UI and mySQL database.  My aim was to create a very simple message board that is easy to use  and easy to implement accross my web projects.  I’ve also added a little security with Captcha to reduce spam.

What you need:
- A PHP enabled webserver with mySQL database. You need to set this up first.

To install:
- Configure the config.php file
- Run the data.sql file from your mySQL database
- Upload all files into your webserver and you’re done

The official website of Inspiration Alan Salon(Brunei) – a modern, vogue local hair beauty salon located at The Mall, Gadong is now released. It took me 2 weeks to complete, using php/mysql backend and xhtml to achive the desirable results. Client participation and feedback was the main template for its development methodology.

The redesign work started a few months ago to give a new fresh look for the website and along the way, enhance its usability and user experience. Client feedback and discussion greatly influenced the final outcome of this new design.

So far on what’s new on the technical side –  Its all XHTML and CSS. I’ve improved the front page using Flash with images transition. These images, taken dynamically from an XML file, can easily updated by the client from a custom image manager which also maintain the gallery page. Lightbox was added into the gallery to create a much ‘cooler’ navigation experience when browsing its images. The message board was also improved with better validation and image captcha to avoid spammers.
