The third version is now on its way. I’ve been meaning to upgrade all my files to AS3(Actionscript 3.0) since last year but was reluctant I was thinking that I’m gonna need to learn this new programming language all over again. But to my surprise, it wasn’t that bad after all. In fact, its easier to learn and so much faster(in performance) and cleaner coding style(just love the OOP style) So far here’s what I’ve done: http://jimisulaiman.com/example/15022010/test01.html

It’s now the end of the year! Time really flies and it feels that I haven’t accomplished any of this year’s plan(not that I have anything written anyway). It’s the December break now and I’m out of office for 2 weeks. Since now that I have a little free time, I feel obligated to update this blog. No web project (except in the office) going on but I did receive some proposal. So sorry people but I really don’t have the time and commitment to handle one at the moment. The only project that i would take right now will be those free ones that don’t have any datelines – personally challenging and fun with no strings attached or obliged to someone. I do have some projects to go but knowing how a procrastinator I am, it’s gonna be a while before I would start any. Got myself a 50mm lens for my DSLR recently. This lens produced a much sharper and amazing depth of field(ref image above) that I hardly use my 18mm-55mm anymore. A bit pricey then its older model but well worth the money. Don’t be surprised if I update my Flickr more than this website. These days I’ve been taking a lot oh photos during my leisure time, can’t wait to take the family out on a vacation! Well that’s all for now. Hopefully the next post will be on some work or project :p

The URL of this website has been renamed to jimisulaiman.com. The domain name feels right this time – personal and simple. The old one sounded more like a company or a product to me. What’s up with more work on photography lately? I’m not trying to advertise myself that I offer photo shoot services or trying out to be a Pros or anything like that. This is totally just a hobby, a personal leisure of trying out something new. I’m still doing websites every now and then – two are actually on its way. Photography has becoming very addictive and out of control. Why? Learning its art: how to take good compositions, the challenge of getting those tack sharp photos, image manipulation, the handling of dSLR and so much more - so do expect to see more posts on photography (a lot) anytime soon. I still got tonnes of unused disk space for this hosting so why not?

This is my first HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging) attempt using my new dSLR. Basically it’s the process of taking multiple exposures and merging them together into a single 32 bit image. I’ve been trying to do this with my old point-and-shoot camera by setting diferent exposures manually but didn’t really gotten anywhere. This could have been a better quality if I have my own tripod (I got shakey hands – maybe because I was holding a cigarette when i took this :p) - I could have gotten a sharper and more detailed image than this. The weather wasn’t helping either - I only managed to get 2 exposure range from the bracket auto setting. Will try more next time around.
